Graeme Souness has warned Liverpool they will struggle to dominate the Premier League in the coming years because of the strength of rival clubs.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, as they chase a first top-flight title in 30 years.
And after winning the Champions League last season, many are tipping the Reds to go on and dominate English football for years to come, but Souness isn’t convinced.
‘You can never say they [Liverpool] will go into a period of dominance because you have to look at Manchester City – they will be around for a long time,’ Souness told The Mirror.
‘There’s the emergence of Chelsea’s youngsters too. Will they get better in the next few years?
‘And Manchester United will be back, guaranteed. It’s just a case of when. So you can’t say Liverpool are going to dominate.’
